Pro1 Shutter Noise

I ordered a Powershot Pro1 and I'm curious as to what the shutter of it sounds like. Is it a nice loud shutter, similar to DSLR's, or is it a beep like that of a cheaper P&S? Thanks in advance!

You already ordered it? Just wait until it comes and then test it out for yourself? It has a large sensor and therefore the shutter is a little larger than in small P&S. But it is nothing like that of DSLRs. You bought a point and shoot, albeit an extremely expensive one. It is going to sound like a P&S. In a moderately loud room I don't think you're going to hear the shutter go off. Besides, in digital SLRs, the sound you hear is actually a combination of the shutter exposing the sensor AND a piece of plastic holding the mirror plane that "slaps" up into the camera right before the shutter goes off. The Pro1 doesn't have this mirror.

I've had one for over a year and it is fairly quiet.I haven't had any problems with it.

By the wy, I like mine alot and still use it even though I have a 20D.
