I really like the curve delineated by the heads and the open space in the upper right in the first ... perfect for text for a Promo Poster! I will have to try to remember this as I have band promo series coming soon. Guess I'll also have to look into getting a smoke machine ... I only need something small as my studio is tiny. Did you do this outside?

I had the same issue, I have a small studio that I usually use. But it was way too small for a 6 person shoot. There's a place I often photograph concerts that has a small concert hall. I was able to get that for 2 hours one evening. That's where we did the shoot.
It was great, we had plenty of space for the gear, the band and mostly for the smoke to dissipate ;)

I like #1, but I would try it without the rain effect on the band members themselves. Might make them pop out a little more.

@Compact Diss: This effect comes closer to what I've wanted from the picture, in terms of athmosphere. The original picture is "rain free"
