I finally, over the holiday weekend made the jump from my trusty G3 to a Rebel XT. So far I LOVE it. I'll post some photos soon. I'm now in the wonderful world of the DSLR :)

It took a while but I bought it with change that I saved in a 5 gal water bottle. This photo was from a little while before I had enough. I think there was around 550.00 or so then.

That is very cool, a customer who pays cash!!! Not sure the shop would appreciate it too much tho'. I tried that and saved all my small change. After 18 months I think I still only had enough to buy a lens blower

With a pretty wife like yours in the house, you share a picture of loose change??? ooh boy.... :D

Congrats on the photo gear addition. I'm betting you're going to love it! Oh, and start a new water bottle for the lenses you're going to start to lust over.

Cheers

Actually I put the lid back on and put just a small slit in the jar so I could put the change in. I used about a roll of tape wrapping the lid to secure it so it would be a pain in the butt to take off..... Otherwise I dont think I could have saved it.

And thanks everyone. I'll be sure to post some photos soon.

I didn't. I just openend it one day and counted/rolled what was there, about 550.00 then put the rolled coins back in and started adding more. :)

Doh! I meant to post my last message with the amount to the July Spending Thread - sorry bout that.

Anyway...I finally pulled the trigger also. Very happy with my purchase. I can't wait to go on some hikes and get some good landscape photos.

For now, I'll stick with photographing my 8 week old son!
