sent in a brand new 70-200f/4L because it back focuses at 70mm.............they sent me an email requesting for $100.00 to cover the work.
their lens that i just bought backfocuses and i have to pay?

It should be covered under warranty. If they insist on payment get it back and return it to where you bought it for a refund.

i sent a copy of the receipt which is what the girl said i needed..........i asked about thew warranty card and they said either/or.

Don't pay! The lense is under warranty and you definitely won't get your money back once you send in a check. Either send in the warranty card (and make sure you send it to someone specific) or get the lens back and get a new one from the retailer.
You should be the last one to have to pay to fix this lense.

i emailed them back as naturally they don't answer the phones after 5 pm.
just got a call from a gal down there saying that they truly apologize for the mix up.
someone entering the lens info clicked the wrong box, aparently they have a "warranty" and "estimate" check box........naturally i asked for them to speed it through to compensate for the stress.......she said she would.
