The more I learn, the dumber I feel. Just trying to take in as much information as my rapidly shrinking brain can handle.

Posting a couple more macros, critique is most welcome.

Thanks for looking

Becki:)

they are both excellent shots, the first has the focus on the flower, which is great, the water drop is just a touch soft. To me, the second has a lot of color, not much DOF. great work.

Becky_D, I hope you don't mind but i worked on the first one a bit in Photoshop, to bring out the drop more. I luv that shot:) Here is what I came up with, let me know what you think. If you don't like it, I will remove it. Also, what camera do you have?

Thanks for posting. As you see, I still have tons to learn. Learner, I don't mind at ALL. Love how you cropped the picture. I'm presently using the 20D with Canon 100 macro lens. Yes, it's apparent that the equipment is much better than I.

if i may add a small opinion the shot is or should be of the water drop as the main focus point the yellow leaf could have been more out of focus .the droplet photographad at an angle may havw had a reflection that lead you back to the leaf . i hope this helps . as to the other picture the lighter area on the top is distracting, the interest is i think in the texture of the red curve and not the light area above a different angle of view my be worthwile

Learner, I got my 100mm macro used on fredmiranda's buy and sell forum for $400.
If you get one, you will love it. It is a great lens for portraits too. Sharp.
