There is a little horizontal nick on my CMOS's UV filter... I am freaking out right now. Will it be very noticible in my images?

Try taking a few pictures using the camera, use a lens both at its widest aperture and smallest aperture to see if it shows up in any of the images.

But in general, its maybe 0.5 mm... Nearly unnoticible

Nobody is going to be able to tell you whether it is, or will be, noticeable without seeing photos. Take some pictures and post them if you really want any kind of worthwhile feedback/advice. Otherwise it's just a guessing game....kind of like asking "My car is making a noise, is it something serious?".

Agreed, we can't really say anything about it without seeing some pictures. We'd just be shooting in the dark.

How the heck did you nick the filter? Press too hard and crack it? Didn't blow it off first and scratch it?

Anyway, the best way to tell if it is going to affect your pics is to do the same test to look for sensor dust. Set the lens to f/22 or higher, ISO 100, complexity unfocus the lens and take a picture of a uniformly lit surface like a clear blue sky or a blank word document. Then load up the pic in photoshop and run a auto levels on it. Any nick, scratch, dust particle will pop right up. Then try it a f/8 and see if you can still see it.

Just another thought, you sure it's not a hair? Or thread?
