I was out shooting a sunrise last week and with no real intention to do an HDR took many exposures of several different shots. Here's what I ended up with. I have tried to get HDR shots before, but nothing successful, so these are my first. Though the individual shots didn't show it, the HDR images revealed quite a bit of dust on my sensor which removed, but I still a trace of in the first shot. All comments appreciated.

Gorgeous. Good crop on the second one. Clone out the power lines and it will look even better.

I like the color and crop in the second one, but am mystified by what looks like it could be a nearby planet or moon flaming its way to the northeast. Something is amiss here.

Awesome! A local photo! And not a bad one, either. I like the crop on #2, but I like the IQ of #1. I've been wanting to take a Denver photo for a long time...I just haven't thought of the perfect location yet. That's a pretty nice one though, good job!

Thanks for the comments all. I'm pretty pleased with the way they came out. I can't say I know what I'm doing yet, because I've tried to replicate things to no avail. But I'll keep trying to learn.

How many pics were merged? And what merger are you using? Photoshop or Photomatix?

I made several merges, so I don't remember exactly but I think there were about 7 or 8. I had about 12 exposures taken for each, but my computer couldn't process them all and would crash at that number. I'm using photoshop to create the hdr with a photomatix plug in.
