Here's one I took at a scholarship competition at Hendrix College the other weekend.

looks ok.
What focal length was this? I might try shooting it with a longer fl to get the background more compressed with the foreground.

I shot this with the 50mm- it was the only lens I took on the trip.

everything is far too centered for me.I feel where the road takes my eyes to is not strong enough to hold my interest.

I love it! The "centeredness" works for me :P Perfect exposure, especially for the sky. That's hard to do. Great work!

yeah good exposure, but nothing there for me, it there was some cool thing in the end of the road or the road just dissapears into a vanishing point...idk, maybe you should play with it in photoshop

Just wondering what "works" for you in this particular photo? While the exposure is nicely done, what holds your interest? Wondering....

The size might make a difference...you can actually see the bell at the end of the road.

I agree with flo, it's lovely and sharp but I get to the centre and think so what ?

Just wondering what "works" for you in this particular photo? While the exposure is nicely done, what holds your interest? Wondering.... I think there are some clean lines in it. The street, the stripes on the street, and the line of the trees are all leading your eyes to the middle of the photo, which is where he was aiming his focus for. While it may not be a photo worthy of being published in a magazine, and while his focus point might not have the best subject matter, it's good composition in my opinion :) Thanks for asking so nicely!
