If you could start from scratch what would you do for Cotton Carrier + tripod + head

Is there some combination that is better than others? Or, possibly cheaper (but without compromising)?

It seems like you can pretty much make the CC hubs work with anything if you buy the right parts. However, if you were starting from scratch is there a tripod/head combo you would recommend considering the use of the CC hubs?

I will be using tripod both indoors and outdoors. Weight is not a big concern for me but I would plan on hiking with the tripod. The way I picture myself using this is CC on, hiking with the tripod on my back to a photo op. but taking pictures along the way.

The Spider Holster is another option to consider, it can work with almost all tripod quick release plates as you can offset the spider connector pin.
