Concert shooters help me out

I have a buddy who goes to a ton of concerts and has been asking me what small camera should he pick up for shooting them because they wont allow a "Professional" camera. He has tried to get his 40D in with a 50mm and even a Rebel but couldn't do it. I was just going to recommend a GF1 with a 20mm pancake lens (f1.7) or the Oly e420 with the 25mm 2.8 rather than a P&S camera. I was wondering what other small non-pro cams you recommend?

Maybe an Oly EP-1 (with the f/1.7 pancake)...not sure how they are at high ISO, but they look like sweet little cameras.
