It was taken with my favourite lens, the 100-400L IS.

Not strictly a forest but an Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty!

Having done a bit of reading up on 'Oystercatchers' it seems that they do stay inland sometimes! There are three that fly out to the coast (about 4 miles away!) every morning over my house, then fly back at dusk (very distinctive chirpy call!)

4 miles isn't far (as the oystercatcher flies) - at least now, when I see one in a forest I'll know I wasn't imagining it
