Is this possible? Rather changing to single shot mode or AI Focus can I reduce the FPS in burst mode from 5 to 4,3,2 etc.? If no, any suggestions or techniques I could utilise to achieve this.
Why would I want to do this? Mainly to capture the different backgrounds when sequence shooting a fast moving object.
Thanks

Ummm.... how about leaving it on "Single Shot" and pressing the shutter button... I can shoot at 3 fps easily that way if needed... In fact I almost never have my cameras on sequence mode.

Yeah "single shot" is the only solution I can think of. Just have to work on my right finger coordination i.e. fully release the shutter button before going for the next shot when in quick succession. Half releasing the button doesn't allow the next shot to be taken.
Out of interest does anyone know if the ability to change the burst mode timing between shots is a common DSLR function found on other cameras?

You can do it via personal functions on a 1D Mark II.
