I was lucky enough to get a day off today, and took a trip to the Great Wall.

A couple of photos... The light was far from ideal, but I did my best!

This part of the wall is at Badaling, north of Beijing.

The main road from Beijing passes under the wall, and all the tourists go up the other side from the one I picked. The other side was mobbed, and I didn't fancy all my photos being full of people! I got my side of the wall to myself mostly, I met maybe 10 other people in about 3 hours spent there.

I think the main reason for one side being very busy is that the shops were on that side. I think I was also very lucky to visit on a Friday, my driver said the place would be thick with people on a Saturday.

I'm still going through the shots I took, here's a couple more:

Man oh man, these pictures sure make me wanting to see this wonder myself. I've been to Beijing but never really got the chance to do other things besides work. Thanks for sharing and giving me this "booster shot." :)
