I think it's awful! Sorry

I think it's a bit much - my eye is confused as to what the focus of the image is. If I were to do an elaborate PP on an image, it would probably be on a more formal image and use other images to accent it. Again, that's an if, because I don't tend to go heavy on processing an image.

I can appreciate the amount of time and effort that went into putting this image together, but it doesn't work for me.

It makes me feel a little dizzy after looking at it for too long. They might just love it though?!

too much distortion on the images. I agree i dont know where to look!

I think we should say "Well Done" for trying something different that you haven't done before.

Having said that, I feel the basic issue is that the "bubbles" are too big, IMHO I don't think any single bubble should be as large as the original image of the B&G. As others have said (maybe in fewer words!) the eye gets confused and doesn't know where to look for a focal point.

Be interesting to try again maybe with smaller bubbles.

I like the idea and think you executed it well. That said, it's too busy for me. It also rings of "gimmick" which I personally dislike. But I appreciate the creativity!

however trying to be constructive ... try fewer bubbles and maybe with a different photo in them

Wow, tough crowd. :D

People... it's a novelty piece - just some clever PP.

However, I'd expect this to be done during the couple's exit when people are actually blowing bubbles and this PP is mingled with real ones.

To the "it looks fake" poster --- who cares, parents would think this was the cutest thing added to a pic of their child. If you think you can create a more realistic looking bubble then please enlighten us with your amazing photoshop skills.

LOL .. thanks Skip .. ;)

And you know .. ahem .. back in the day ..... alotta wedding photographers would do *double exposures* .. (you know .. a shot of the alter from the back of the chapel with all the splendid stained glass .. etc .. etc ..)THEN, they'd shoot a *mood shot* of the groom close up peerring into the eyes of the bride while she stared at her bouquet .. and then superimpose the two ..

That always kina struck me as .. well .. not something I'd do .. however, brides and .. especially their mom's loved that shot .. lol! Grrr, sooo, needless to say, I started doing them myself .. untill, thankfully .. it kina ran it's own course and died out all together .. and just as I was actually incorporating a different theme in terms of taking an image of the chapel outside with a nice sky, THEN, I shoot the bride and groom walking away from me looking at each other, on some concrete or whatever was light enough .. and then dodge the concrete out and it would like the bride and groom were above the chapel in the clouds .. err .. ok .. borrring .. LOL!

But hey .. it sold .. and in this business .. that's what counts .. ;)

Let me know what you think!

You are one of those.... one of those people that ask for other opinions and then crys when nobody likes it. Quit crying and do better. You asked others what they think... very first thread. You didn't ask for technical help on how to recreate a realistic looking bubble. You said, "Let me know what you think!"

People told you they disliked it and it looked fake. You got what you asked for and your feelings are hurt that the majority of the people don't like it. Take that critism and do better.

As I am the poster that said they looked fake... I will happily respond to your first thought again and tell you what I think. They look fake and cheesy. And I'm pretty sure I could create a more realistic bubble.

Fine... Here is your pudding. 10 minute bubbles! Could do better if I really wanted to. And only bothered putting their reflection and color refraction in one of them. And no, they are not perfect... but, they are much better than previous ones.

and no... I am not a second account for him. I'm not as good as him. :)

Now, for the more helpful response. I did this all on a whim. I'm sure there are better ways to go about it and much more realistic bubbles can be created...

So, If you want some help with your bubbles... When you are creating them, do it on a new layer and set that layer to overlay. On another layer, put your warped photo also as an overlay. This layer under the bubble layer. Maybe adjust the opacity if needed. Now, for the color refraction, create an outward radial gradiant (I used white>yellow>violet) from the center of the bubble to edge on another layer above the bubble layer, set to color burn (I think) and play with opacity. Use radial mask to gradually fade out edges of bubble.

Are they perfect... no. Are they better than the first... in my opinion yes. Will somebody disagree with me? Surely.

Your ones look like a pin would pop them. The OP's look more like if you dropped them, they'd smash. I guess it depends which look you are going for. I'd go with you for bubbles him for paperweights.

Nice bubbles but the reflection is just wrong with the location of your bubble. It should show the side of his face on left and she would be right of him......just as cheesy in the end IMO.

and that's why it shouldn't be done... and i don't think their reflection would even appear in that bubble from that angle. I think as it would have more of the landscape behind the photographer as the reflection. But I am not reflections expert. I guess it really just depends on if that bubble was in front of or behind the couple... who knows. Maybe now I'll go do a test bubble shot to find out...

and...

Good thing I didn't complain about the reflections in the first posts. I'd sure look like a moron. I was only pressed to make a better bubble and not accurate reflections. :p

LOL... I think the subject doesn't deserve this much attention and I agree with your fist assessment. BTW, the bubbles in the OP and mine are done with an old PS plugin from Corel or ???. They don't look real but the reflections are right on every time. Here's another quick example. The bubbles look like glass orbs...

In theory.

Oh and since you just think this is the worst idea ever why did you ruin that pic of yours with bubbles.

I didnt' ruin that pic with bubbles... i ruined that pic with the clipped blacks....

here's the difference, i understand when I do something that is wrong. (95% of the photos I take) however, like you, i also understand that it doesn't matter because if the client pays for it, who really cares.

i still don't understand what you are so bent out of shape about.

good day!
