Just a few shots I took in the last few weeks. I'm still not great but getting better.

Well, it seems to me that we need to shoot surfers together ... and you can show me how to use my 100-400. :-)

We can learn together, Dwight; I've only shot with it twice. It's so hard to manually focus on something at 400mm without a pod. I hope my monopod comes in soon.
If you really want to shoot surfing let me know. There is supposed to be a swell coming in next week and I took the entire week off :).

Well, I guess in truth I am too busy with two jobs and buying and selling houses to do anything right now, sigh, but I would enjoy spending a day shooting surfers with you. I have the week of the 18th off but it is already almost packed end to end! BTW, doesn't autofocus work?

All these picks are sweet! Especially the last two...the big air kicks _ss!

Autofocus does work but the first time I used it I had a hard time keeping focus on the surfer. I kept getting pictures focused on the wave in front or th horizon behind the surfer. I'm sure I just need some practice with it.
Thanks for the compliments Delta.

They are all great, the 1st and 5th and last in paticular are stunners for me.
I would love to shoot surfers but there isn't any opportunity in notts :)
Skateboarding has always been something I've been interested in, so I may have to give that a whirl.
Again, great work,
Have you got anymore you could show us from these sets?

Thanks, Benny. Here are a few more from the same days. I don't really like these as much. I need to learn how to use Photoshop and upgrade from 2.0.

Oh, yes, I have lots of trouble with autofocus, too, particularly when there are wonderful shapes the camera wants to focus on such as horizons or especially chain link fences! :-) I am hoping the 1D Mark II will be a little better than my previous experiences.
