Just signed up for the free Flickr account, I had one of the free Pbase accounts for a while there but never really used it. The Flickr user experience was pretty easy to grasp and slick looking, and I'm actually pretty tempted to get the pro account, not that I would necessarily use all the features, but to encourage them to keep it up and keep adding new features.

In particular the ability to directly add Creative Commons licenses of my choice either to all pictures or to use different ones for individual pictures is really neat.

One feature that I'd love to see tho is a 'Print it now' type of box where viewers could send an image to a processing lab of their choice with just a few clicks, and the photog could get some kind of per print fee. That would be really slick, and I think some of the competitors have a similar feature but I havent investigated it lately.

I'm a web designer, and usually do my own custom galleries, but Flickr was so nice and clean looking that I just uploaded all my wedding and honeymoon photos to share. I dig it too. I don't know if I'd use it for printing though.

To anyone considering Flickr:

Be forewarned it is an addiction!

When I first signed up I thought it was a nice gallery, free for a small number of images, and had an attractive interface. After a few weeks it 'clicked' with me... it's a lot more than that. I'm in Atlanta and there is a very active local group; it's been a great way to meet others interested in photography in the area and get out and photograph new places. If you do sign up I highly recommend searching out any local groups in your area.

It's a terrible, yet wonderful addiction. The setup is different than most photography forums, and it's a great way to share your photography with others. I like the sense of community present in the groups to which I belong and the wide range of interests present.
