Huge grasshopper!

Here's another interesting creature I ran across in Florida. This grasshopper had great colors and was about 4 inches long! We definitely don't have these guys in California... not that I've seen anyway. These images are not edited, except for 100% crop.

Very colorful grasshopper.
I can never let a giant grasshopper get that close to me. But i have no problem with a giant praying mantis. I don't know why. I think grasshopper has some weird smell.

I've only picked up a praying mantis twice and both times it turned around in my hand and flew stright at my eyes! :shock: Never again :lol:

You need to post a picture of your eyes. I want to see why the mantis did that when they saw your eyes. :lol:
