Greetings - It woud be a rare person that would have both or have used both. What body do you have? Given best of Nikon and Canon bodies in good hands, they will be similar I would think, but...ya gotta love f/1.2!

we want body and camera combination that is top
camera choice canon 5d II or nikon d 700
lense choice canon 85mm 1.2L or nikon 85mm 1.4D

I have Canon 5DII and 85 f/1.2L II - Killer combination.
On this Canon forum, perhaps no one has the D700 and the Nikon 85 f/1.4D so we can't personally compare. You can't go wrong with either combination. Canon 5D II and 135L which I do not have is a great portrait lens too.
