I want to have a contest on my business FaceBook page, to give away a free photo session (with a limit, of course, on the length/value), either a free graduating senior, newborn, bridal, engagement or family shoot. Please let me hear your ideas! I was trying to think of something that would direct more people to my FB page, like, whoever gets the most fans to join within the next month wins--but I can't think of a way to keep up with or determine who is referring whom as a fan...

Michelle, I've seen this done where you have the person take a screenshot before they submit their page suggestion. You can see how many people they are suggesting your page to.

Yeah, that's what Karl Johnston did, it's a good idea! May go with that one.

I found a local charity event, and donated a shoot to it as a raffle prize - it raised them some money, got my name in front of a ton of local people in the genre I'm currently shooting in, and the resulting session was a lot of fun, with fewer expectations than my normal shoots.

Got some good ideas here, but this is what I finally went with-- look on my FB page for the event details http://www.facebook.com/chellyroo

(did ya see that? see what I did there? sneakily directing traffic to my FB page? not my business one, though, just personal)

People can't see your personal page unless you are friends with them.

Whoever can show that they had the most volunteer hours last year, wins!

Dang! Foiled again! I will have to go change my security settings until the contest is over, I guess, will that work?

I don't think there's a security setting to allow your profile to be "wide open". Sometimes if you are in a certain network you can see the entire profile, but otherwise its just very basic information (if any).
