saw a green sky like #2 and a twister like #3 when I was a kid. We lived in a Tornado Belt in Ontario. brings back some memories of looking for shelter...
great shots.

Great shots indeed, takes a lot of guts to hang around shooting those cloud heads.....there's a site I go to called Extreme Instability, some great shots there also.

Those clouds are amazing! I think if I saw clouds like that I would be both drawn and scared.

I'm from Alberta, and trust me, those were not taken here. I first saw them in emails over a year ago. Was told they had to do with Hurricane Ivan or something. Our skies here were straight grey. No colours. Just one huge soggy wet grey cloud. Sorry, but your friend duped you.

Very nice site! Thanks for the heads up. The picture of the tornado comes from this site, or at the very least, from the Webmaster, Mike Hollingshead... a smaller version can be found in the 'Chase' picture section for 2004 under 'May 24, 2004 Chester NE to KS Tornadoes.'

They are certainly cool shots and I'm glad bikerider pointed the way to the person who took them. You should all take a look at Mike's site, Extreme Instability. There are plenty of shots that provide a good deal of inspiration/motivation for this kind of photography.

Pardon my manners. Hi Folks. I'm brand new to these forums, but I can see that I'll be spending alot of time here. I've been a Nikon user for over 25 years, although my first camera was a Canon A1. I've been looking to make the leap to digital and it appears as if Canon is the way I want to go. I kind of always regreted getting rid of that A1 so many years ago and hopefully I'll be returning to the Canon fold in a couple of months with the purchase of a 20D.
