I have not got a macro lens so this is a bit of a heavy crop fom my 50mm f1,4. I was initially just shooting the thistle then the bee obliged by flying into view!

This is quite a beautiful photo, Martin. The colors are awesome and there's a 3-D feel to it (especially the thorny part of the flower).
