In another thread I posted how I have been having trouble editing my fireworks pictures. The tiff output does not match the colour of what is in the RSE editng window. It seems when you are zoomed out the picture takes on an enhanced more vibrant sort of thumbnail mode. When I zoom in to 100% what is displayed in RSE is less colour saturated and matches what is in my tiff output. I have determined that the cutoff for those two colour "modes" happens somewhere between 87% and 92%. Problem is on my monitor running at 1600X1200, the zoom percentage in which I can see the entirety of a vertical image is at 25% zoom. That is well within the range of the phoney colours which ends at 87%.

Here is an example. The first picture is at 87% zoom which to me appears more saturated than the second screenshot where the zoom is set to 92%. Keep in mind the only change I made was to zoom in more and take a screenshot.

Very intersting...

Check the preferences.. I wonder if there is a setting for this..

I'll have to try this as well.. I have not noticed this yet.
Thanks for the update.

I've just started using RSE last week. I remember reading somewhere in the pdf help file about more saturation in the thumbnails. I found it's best when editing your file to hit the 3rd button from left at the top of the screen to remove everything but the picture and adjustment tools. I think they want you to edit at 100% zoom, notice also the sharpness and detail extraction sliders are grayed out at anything but 100% zoom. You can however still use them.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried viewing it full screen with just the tools but am experiencing the same effect. I need to be able to see the image in its entirety to do allot of adjustments though. Bummer, I really wanted raw shooter to work for me.
