I have a 50D , was thinking about buying the BG-E2N grip.If I use the six aa batteries, would this last all day shooting. And would I use the the stock camera battery the same time?
Thanks, Troy

I have a vertical grip on the 40D but only use a pair of BP-511A batteries during wedding and photoshoot and will last me all day and more...
I have never used the battery tray yet but I always have it just in case in out of the world happen to 10 of my BP-511A batteries during Wedding and events

In a pinch I used 6 AA Energizer Lithiums for hours of shooting.
They last a while but not nearly as long as two BP-511A batteries from Sterlingtek. Which btw is also cheaper then constantly buying AA Lithos...

There is a battery magazine in there that holds 6 AA batteries but they are heavier than 2 X BP511A batteries and don't last as long. With 2 BP511A batts, I get in excess of 1100 shots.

2 regular batteries in a grip last me forever
