Hey guys,

Just wondering where to set my price point for shooting school formals.

Shots include:
Couple/Group shots on a backdrop
Candid shots around venue.. the usual

Outputs include:
Prints
CD's
Facebook digital copies

Ofcourse the client want is printable digital copies .. but how does one get around it.

Client is a student body, who funds the event from payments per head.

Is it best to charge by the hour, and try for prints? Or offer watermaked images for cd's/facebook

Cheers

Have done lots of these in the UK and the usual arrangement is to shoot on-spec and sell prints there and then.

Typically a 6 x 9 print goes for upto £10 (call it AUD 15) and the school / organising committee takes a commission of around 10% to allow you to shoot.

I'm not saying that there are not other ways to do this but this is the usual.
