Hi all! I'm new to this, but here goes:

So, I bought a 40D in late october 2009 and started to shoot away, bought some more gear and shot some more.
Today I had my first real photoshoot, apart for trying out some stuff on my significant other. My ex co-worker and friend agreed to let me shoot her, and here's the result.

Fire away!

For the first, I like it so far. Editing is good too

#3 is a bit dark, but in general, good lighting on the remainder, and well done. I'd toss #2, not a fan of the looking away shot.

#1 and #3 are, in my opinion, cracking shots, closely followed by #4. The others are very decent shots too. Well done!

Great work, beautiful photos and processing, doesn't look like a first time studio shoot! Some crops bit too close to the hair, focus tiny bit off on #4 (maybe, can't tell for sure, eye look a little softer than chin to me though), otherwise fantastic! The last is my favourite, I find the eyes and pose most captivating in that shot.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it.

lundgrenj: #3 is indeed a bit dark, I actually suspected that when I shot but liked the light and decided I could probably fix it in post. Lesson learned. I do like the looking away shot though :)

deathcake: I wouldnt go as far as calling it a studio shot. Just white wall and two speedlites, hehe. Thanks for the nice comments.

All in all it was a real fun shoot and I learned a lot, so next time will be even better.
She was really easy to work with and has agreed to let me shoot her some more.
