I've been reading lots of "alternative glass" threads here on POTN, looking at hundreds of eBay auctions... and since I can't decide, I thought maybe the decision will be easier if some fellow POTNer has a good MF lens for sale at a reasonable price? :D

At the moment, I am still an "alternative glass virgin" (at least when it comes to using those lenses on a DSLR, I did initially learn photography on a Russian Zorki, but that was over 20 years ago), so I'm open to any system/mount/adapter type.

My preference would be something in the 30mm-ish focal range (simply because that's where I have a gap between the Tokina 11-16 and the nifty fifty, so I might as well start with filling this gap), but if you have a nice lens that's different focal length, let me know too. I'm open to getting more than one, too, but would prefer to initially stick with one type of adapter.

Soooo, if you have something that you think might be just what I'm looking for, send me a PM with the usual details (price, type of lens, which adapter I would need to use it on the Rebel XSi, possibly some pictures taken with the lens you'd like to sell).

I don't have feedback here (yet? ), but have 395 100% positive feedback on eBay. My (well, technically ours, since I share the eBay account with my husband) username is ojhasu and here (http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=ojhasu&ftab=AllFeedback)'s the link to the feedback. Feel free to message me via the eBay system to verify that this is me :-) .

Shipping would be to US zipcode 98506.

Possible trades or partial trades:
- My crappy kit lens (it's the IS type, but I hate it with passion and will probably end up just giving it away)
- The Manfrotto 055XProB/488RC2 tripod/head combo, bought in January and barely used.

I have a Pentacon 135mm f2.8 (15 aperture blades) if you're interested. I'll sell it for $100 (shipped/paypalled).

i'll throw in a Helios 44-2 58mm/f2 lens for free. Not the best condition and works (just doesnt work on my 5D).

Both lens uses M42 mount so you would need a M42 to EOS adapter. Let me know :)

Sounds great:D. I'm almost out the door to go to work right now, but I'll get back to you on that tonight.

So it looks like the M42 will be the first system I will try (I was on the fence between that or OM) :) Anyone has a shorter (than the 58mm Helios offered by Ekie) that would go nicely with these? Or is anyone looking into getting rid of an M42 to EOS adapter (I think I am comfortable enough focusing manually in live view not to need one with AF confirm)? I thought I'd ask here before I hit eBay.

not a problem. since you're using it on a crop body, i would go for the AF confirm since there will be times when using liveview isnt ideal to use. plus M42 adapters are fairly cheap so an AF confirm shouldnt cost you too much :)
