Hi Folks,

Very new here. Hi to all of the esteemed members.

I wonder if the lens units of Digital EOS XT are compatible with Rebel 2000 SLR analog system. I am a novice at these things. Pardon my ignorance. Much appreciate your reply

EF-S is not compatible with the rebel 2000, but EF is compatible both for the XT and 2000.

There are also a series of digital only wide angle lenses that would only be used on digital cameras that are cropped.

At least this is my understanding ...

YES. The lenses are compatible from the Rebel 2000 to the Digital Rebel XT as long as they are EF mount lenses. The Digital Rebel XT however can also use EF-S lenses that are not compatible with the Rebel 2000.

Yes, all canon EF lens that you were using with Rebel 2K should work with digital too.

But there is a possiblity of compatiblity issues with third party manufactureres. Some Sigma lenses were known to have problems with earlier EOS 300D but they may have been rectified now. But it is always better to double check if you have any third party lenses.
