I picked up a used copy of this lens, was hoping to have it for this weekend but fed-ex tracking says it won't be here til monday. Its gonna be a longgggg weekend as I track it every 5 minutes. I can't wait to get my hands on this bad boy :D

SH buy sounds like a great option. I'd love to know how it gets on with your 1.4x. A bit slow maybe with a TCon, but it the quality holds up and it is usable during normal day light then I could add it my list.

Second hand prices aren't too bad for the lens, I paid $925 shipped which I'm sure I could recoup if I ever decided to sell it. I probably won't because I'm a telephoto junky. From what I have seen the image quality even with the 1.4TC is very impressive, of course I'll be doing my own testing.

$1451.05 Thats the price in the UK for a new one - henc the term RIP OF BRITIAN, it would not be any cheaper if i got it from the states as we get VAT and inport duty slamed on it
