Is anyone using the Delkin Dual Battery Charger to charge their LP-E6 batteries or other models?

Are there other manufacturers that you would recommend?
I love the 1D MK III dual charger. I can put both batteries on to charge and go to bed. I realize they charge consecutively and not both at once, but that doesn't matter to me. What does matter is they are both ready to go in the morning when I wake up. Great for shooting multi-day events.

Do they have plates for the LP-E6? Link is for the BP511 Canon used to use. They don't make plates for the LP-E4 of the 1D3/4 series either.

Got my Delkin dual charger in today. I have already topped off all four of my 7D batteries.
Looks good so far.

Yup. You just change the adapter plate for the battery you need to charge.
For the BP-511 you use this one:

or the charger bundled with the BP-511 plates

Do they charge at the same time

Yes, independently. One battery had a little more life left than the other one, so the percent charged lights were displaying different percentages.

Can we charge different battery on each side at the same time ? ex: 5D battery on one side and 7D battery on the other side at the same time ?
Thanks.

From the instruction manual...
"Yes, as long as you use the designated charging plate that is designed specifically for your battery model, the charging possibilities are endless."
For more info, check out the Delkin site.

I was about to buy one of these....then i saw the size of the PSU...I think it's simpler and lighter to just get another Canon charger.

I am not sure which charger you are talking about, but the Delkin is only about twice the size of the Canon charger, plus a little bit. Sorta like a fat wallet, which I haven't had in a loong time! :-)
I just packed it for a road trip. Volleyball tournament tomorrow. Life is a lot simpler with a dual charger, especially when you have to share elect outlets in a hotel room.

I think he's talking about the power supply, as you can see from this picture...

FYI, here's a small (Sort of) review on them.

Hm. Mine didn't come with the power supply. Mine pluges into the wall and the cable goes to the charging station.

Ah, so.
I didn't know what "PSU" meant.
The Delkin also comes with a DC adapter so you can charge on the go! :-)

Anyone know if these can be used with non-oem LL-E6 batteries that don't have a chip? I have two Canon and two generic batteries which require different chargers. I already have the dual charger for the 30D (BP-511), so getting the plates here could simplify charging my 7D batteries.

Don't you have 3 LP-E6 chargers, since you have 2*5D II & a 7D? The Delkin PSU does look big, but since I have 2 LP-E6 chargers, from my 7D & 5D II. I'm planning to keep both Canon LP-E6 chargers in my gear bag & the Delkin to use at home.

Ed, i'm not critising anyone for going down this charging route. I think it's concept is great but flawed in it's execution. It's your money and your choice, but I personally can't see the need for it. The combined size of the PSU, charger and extra bits....it's cash for not a lot of benefit. Your needs might vary.

The real advantage to this is if you carry a mixed bag of gear. There are plates for the BP-511, AA cells, the NB-3L, most PowerShots, and now the LP-E6. So one charger can be used to cover almost anything you have. Personally, I'd still carry a backup charger for every significant battery type I use, but this would cut down on the overall bulk of your load if you have much gear. We travel with 2x DSLRs (and I got the 5D2/7D combo just so I wouldn't need to carry two DSLR battery types), an SX1 IS (4xAA cells, same as my flash units) and 2x Li Ion powered PowerShots, which use different battery types. I know other people with 5D Classic and a Digital Rebel model as well as the odd PowerShot. Again, this will reduce your load. If you only need one type of battery for multiple cameras then carrying two factory chargers and an extension cord is probably more efficient, but with much of a gear mix, this can pay off.

Just finished charging both batteries after shooting 2200 pics today at a volleyball tournament. More of the same tomorrow. Charged both batteries at the same time. They are ready to go. Only needed one elect outlet to charge both batteries.
The dual charger from Delkin and a pair of the plates for the LP-E6 cost about the same as a single Canon charger. Only thing is, you can't plug two Canon chargers into the same outlet! I am happy with my purchase. YMMV. :-)

I just got my charger too with the 511 and LP-E6 plates but when I put in batteries nothing lights . It has power because all the LED's flash when you first plug it in but non lit indicating it's charging . I tried 2 sets and nothing.....wonder if I got a dud or my batteries are already at too high of a charge to activate it ?

Are you using genuine batteries ?

I have 2 genuine Canon batteries and 2 Maximal LP-E6 batteries. The Delkin charges both brands equally with no problems. At least for me it did.

Yes as well as some maximals . Seems strange it won't top them up . I'll try it again and if it doesn't work I'll likely have to ship it back which is a PITA .

Tried it again and the power supply seems fine but if I wiggle the plug going into the charger plate box they flash sometimes .
I contacted Delkin and they will be issuing a return number so I can send it back for replacement . Their customer service seems great BTW :)
Just lousy luck I got a bad one :(
