This is very cool, just saw this today:

Alexa uses Acrylic paint and applies it to her subjects before photographing them. It's a very surreal effect and her images rock - check em out.

That is cool! Seems like the hair and teeth are going to be a challenge for her. I'm sure she'll figure out a way to make hair & teeth have the same look eventually.

Now, if only this would work on the subjects I shoot . . . unlikely!

It is different and very creative, but they scare the crap out of me because I expect painting but see real eyes. It's like all those older films with "haunted" houses and somebody is looking through an old painting.

I think that's what is cool about them. If they looked 100% real then what's the point?

I kinda don't really like looking at them either, I think they are very unflattering to the subject, but I appreciate the creativity!!

Some are ok (by no means spectacular), other are as ugly as hell - diseased looking. Ain't art interesting? ;)
