Had another go at cropping in close. This was more from the camera than the last attempt, but it was still cropped more in PS. Any comments welcome.

WOW...those eyes. But the skin does look a little too soft...was that photoshopped or in camera? Very good shot though, very captivating.

Definately lots of PS. I deliberately over did it on the skin. I was looking for that extra smooth effect.

Thanks for commenting :)

Is that your reflection you can see in his eyes? I love the wrinkled forehead expression! Great photo!

I really don't like this kind of overprocessed image, but it's personal choice and not a critique. Not sure why I don't, but they seem to rob the subject of what makes them unique and interesting: they become an exercise in perfection rather than just who they are. The image makes the child look like a plastic doll.

The crop on this one works better for me than the previous one -.......both lovely though

i second that. especially on a close-up shots like this, i prefer more detail.

Ordinarily I would agree. But as I said, it was over done deliberately. My aim was actually to make the eyes stand out more by softening the skin. Given the comments on the eyes, I think this worked. But possibly a little less softening would have achieved the same result?
