The model and your photos are beautiful but why is the poor girl eating a shoe?

she is beautiful, the second photo is perfect. The only complaint/whine I have about either, is the first.. the editing is a little too soft/milky around the fingers, chest, upper lip. It just contrasts a little much to me from her hand/arm and then fingers and bottom lip and top. It just looks more consistent in the second. both lovely photos though.

All I could think about with respect to the first one is, do you know what that shoe has stepped in?

The second is very nice. A vertical composition that includes more of the book and the top of her head might add a bit more context. Background could be simplified.

Yep! The shoe thing leaves me cold. The second image is more viewer friendly. Probably a matter of taste, but to me both images are too slick. I don't see either as having a sense of spontaneity. Once again, that's what I like, not necessarily what you intended to portray.

This is just my humble opinion.

I like the idea of the shoe thing ... but I don't think a B&W conversion works on it, I also think if would be better if the hair/makeup styling was more wild and colourfull. The model is too pretty and the hair and makeup too everyday for this to work as it is.

Second shot is beautiful ... lovely use of DOF. I agree a vertical compisition more around the model and book and less background would be beneficial. I like the editing and the B&W conversion ... but still a beautiful shot. Congratulations, your client must love the 2nd one.

I think both shots of the girl are superb, but I'm not keen on her eating the shoe in #1, or the cluttered background in #2.

These are both great IMO wether you like the shoe or not. Great light, great model, beautiful eyes!

The shoe ideas good but as fashioneyes indicated I think it needs to be wackier, makup, look, feeling, you know, model trying to bite the heel of the shoe of in anger kinda thing.

#2 - technically well exposed but does look a bit posed, main bit that distracts me in the background is the uneven shelf.

Love the eyes in both of them, must try more window lit shots myself.

I would really like #1 if it was not so soft and if the shoe was red to really jump out. The composition of that shot is a bold statement better made with a red shoe on B&W IMO. As for #2 I think if she was looking down more as if to be glancing up from her reading it would look more natural, though the way it is does seem to give a daydream effect as if to be entranced in the thought of a character in the book. If that makes any sense to you :/ The background isn't so distracting to me because it is setting a mood IMO.

I really like the first composition but i think you have gone overboard on the processing. The poor girl has not cheeks and the eyes look over sharpened compared to the rest of the face. I think you could do so much with this image, she has a beautiful face.
