This was shot on our dining room floor - fairly minimalist.

A single 580exII was camera right, firing to the ceiling, with the bounce card out - just sitting on the floor.

I was shooting with a 7D, and a Tamron 28-75mm lens at ISO400, 1/60th and f2.8

My cropping / framing could be a bit better - I've got to watch those limbs!

what a perfect little guy! wow, I didn't think was the 7D, gosh I need a real flash >.< I agree with the crop, but everything else is perfect..especially to just be randomly taken at home. handsome boy! dimples are to die for, you made that and the photo! haha very talented.

Thanks for the kind comments! I caught all his limbs in this one, but I'm not so keen on the angle - even though his eyes look like he's planning something naughty (he was, he pulled the dogs tail!)

Out of interest, why wouldn't you have guessed this was a 7D?

I think after reading around and being part of several forums I've bought into the full frame > crop thing. Which is ridiculous, but I always feel like whatever I have isn't good enough. It's very much not about the tools but about the person behind it. I've seen some incredible things on this forum. It's certainly different from others.. not to hijack your thread and redirect it! I'm still learning and the art people turn out even with the most humble of tools, and diy projects are amazing. I literally just* learned the joys of bouncing flash and now I'm obsessed with getting an off camera flash, a light scoop can only do so much. But I still don't know what I want to photograph. I come here mainly for inspiration, but every time I see a nice photograph I always assume it's a 5D, 5D mark II, or 1Ds.

There is nothing wrong, or "less" about a crop sensor for the right things :) I'm no "pro" (however you measure that) - but even pro's will go with a good crop sensor for sports or other long reach photography sometimes.

The 7D is more than capable of holding it's own for pretty much any kind of photography, up to and including the professional level.

There is a full time photographer in my neighbourhood who shoots wedding and journalistic stuff with a Rebel XT - it's certainly not your tools.
