I am doing a shoot with my wife in a park today. I would like to make the most of the natural lighting. Is there a way I can make a home made light reflector? What materials would be useful for this?

Situate your wife in the shade of a tree, and then set up the camera outside of the shade in the sun. Set up a piece of white foamboard (typically 20x30 inches) leaning against another tripod or other support. Angle the foamboard so that it reflects sunlight toward your wife.

You can make it more reflective by covering the foamboard with shiny aluminum foil, but sometimes it makes the reflected light quite harsh.
