I am new to photography and I had this first occasion to shoot some people at the sport meeting. I, myself, like to run too (I'm 23), so I thought I can make few pictures of it. From all that I made, these here, which I present you, are in my own opinion quite good. But as I am no pro, I wanted to show them to you and ask for feedback. The next marathon is at the beginning of April so I will want to make more pictures of it!

Not too bad. Here's a list of a couple things to remember.

1. Shoot tight, crop tighter. I know you're a bit limited w/ only having the 17-55, but longer glass is necessary.
2. Watch your backgrounds. A very busy background can distract from the runner.
3. Get lower. Kneeling will give a better perspective of the runner.
4. Try to shoot with the sun at your back or close to your back. This will help throw some light on the runner's face.
5. Don't shoot them when they run into a shadow. Shoot them before or after they go into a shadow.
6. Watch your aperture. Shooting w/ a wide aperture (f/2.8-3.2) will help give you some depth of field and bring your subject out from the background.

Just a few thoughts. Keep shooting and keep posting.
