Man, I was hoping you were announcing that Canon had decided to start selling them. I hear you, though. Cool as it is (in a very geeky sort of way of course), there's no way I'd pay $200 for a coffee mug.

OK, thats the end of my desire for one of these. UNLESS canon decides that selling these for a fair price would be a worthwhile venture. Since someone already has the tooling to cast them, and they seem to be marketing themselves, I am willing to bet that these are being produced somewhere right now and we will be seeing them either on the canon website or as a licensed product somewhere soon.

actually i heard a rummor that Canon Canada may start selling these retail... for a price of $30. i hope they go thru with it, i would definatly buy one for that price...

$30 seems right for a Canon mug - $200 is way too much unless you get LS (liquid stabilisation :D)

I'm guessing canon is probably gearing up to build a large enough inventory so when they do start selling, there won't be a shortage of demand with a lot of resellers on ebay

They are pretty cool, but I wouldn't really want to pay even $30 for a coffee mug? Call me cheap, but I would rather put that money to some new gear! Saving every penny right now for a FF body and some new glass!

i actually emailed simons camera about it, and got put on the pre-order list...they said they'd be in contact with me at the end of the month....i just planned on picking it up to sell it on ebay for more...maybe around christmas time...as long as it's limited edition...i think a few people would be willing to throw some cash around
