about 50-60mph, shutter speed at 1/40 - wish I could of slowed it down more to like 1/30 or 1/25th for more bakcground blur but its not easy hanging out the window and keeping the camera that still, lol... so 1/40 was the slowest...

OK, so this is from the same shoot, finally got the others PP'd, here they are.
Really wish I could of got more background blur with a slower shutter speed, but anything slower then 1/40th and the car came out blury...
I also know the tree reflections take away from the shot, but I guess I should take it easy as its my first rolling shoot. Next time I'm going to plan it out much better, this was kinda a rush/unplanned shoot, lol...

love your setup (stance) haha
next try, maybe try driving at a faster speed so you can get more motion blur without having to go slower than 1/40

Sweet, thanks guys!
I have the 10-22 and was hoping to use it but thought maybe the wide DOF wouldn't blur the BG enough. I heard a good telephoto was best for this type of panning and was hoping my 17-55 would be long enough -- looks like it will be more than sufficient!
Is there a good (read: safer) technique for hanging out the window? I wanted to try and get a van with a sliding door to take pics a little easier, but won't have one available... any tips for this?
