Ok all you Aircraft fans.. I had a chance to do a walkaround today.. and made a few pics.

Here are two shots of an airplane from the pilots perspective.

I will post other pics if no one guesses...

ok.. maybe I should have covered up the throttles...

I talked with the pilot and he said he has been flying this baby for over 20 years.

Here are some more pics..

Got some other shots that have to be processed... and I'll post the gallery location here when they are online.

Thanks for playing... ;)

start and departure...

would have gone for a flite to get some air shots.. but didn't have time to talk the pilot into reducing the 170 Euro ticket. ;)

That wasn't what tipped me off.....

It was the front engine cowl and the windscreen. I would have come up with the answer sooner, but I could only remember Junker and Ju-something. I finally did a Google search for Junker trimotor and got the answer.

I actually only uploaded the first shot of the engine cowl.. and wanted to see what kind of response that would have received... but thought it might be too difficult, and put the cockpit up. (those were the first two raw files I processed.. )

Seeing as we have such a learned group of people here, I shall be more considerate of your knowledge next time... ok?? ;)

What a beautiful airplane. The meseum in San Diego has one, havent seen it fly though...

My Grandfather flew them for SAS in 1946...
He retired on the 747, what a great career!

Chris... There are 3 (I believe) flying for this company in Switzerland, and you can look at the flight schedule and book a seat for about 170 Euro, for 40 minute tour. Not that you would actually get very far.. because that thing flys pretty slow...

Rob.. Bavarian Motor Works is a pretty good literal translation of Bayerische Motoren Werke
... but there are others for BMW... like my favorite for their cars - "Box Mit Wheels" (spoken with a thick German Accent.. where the W is pronounced like V... (mit = english 'with' ))

Yes, sure I know that. But you know, having been a BMW biker for 20 years and having literally "consumed" 7 bikes (R45, R65, R80ST, R100CS, R100RT, K100RSClub, K1100LT) I'm kinda fetish about them :D

Talking about cars (I'm not too much into cars) Box Mit Wheels sounds good, perhaps :)
