Sunrise over Swampscott

No swamp, just a strange name for beach town. Insomnia had the better of me, so I decided to head down to the beach to take a picture or two. Sunrise was at about 5:15, this was taken around 5:40.

I adjusted the contrast a bit and and sharpened a little. It's a little darker than I had planned on, but I kind of liked it this way. I put a 5x7 in a black 8x10 frame with a white outer mat and a narrow black inner mat. I think it worked out pretty well, but am always eager to hear any suggestions you might have for improvements.

I like to print things out with my pixma ip4000 and live with them for a while before getting a good print made. So it's not too late for improvements. :)

Wow! I like it! The birds kind of bring the whole shot together. Really awesome.

I live near the beach and I never have any luck getting the birds to cooperate with me. Anyway beautiful shot.

Thanks for the reply. :) I climbed down onto some pretty slippery looking rocks (don't drop the camera, don't drop the camera, don't drop the camera!) and set up the tripod. 10 seconds later, the birds were there. Perfect timing. :)
