This was 5-1 stop exposures and processed through Photomatix. I tone mapped for the sky and the land and remixed. Taken with 5D2 w/24mm Tilt-Shift and Singh-ray 4 stop soft step ND on Z-Pro Cokin mount. I did mask in the flag from one of the exposures.

Unfortunately it looks like your title is actually having the opposite reaction you probably expected. It's a really lovely picture and PP job.

Nice work.. but something in the tree to the upper right looks odd.. like a wisp of smoke or something.. kinda bluish..

yeah. just the smallest "halo"
but the rest of the image for sure makes up for it.

Actually it's working perfectly, just nobody comments, they just like to look. Thanks for your supportive comment.

You're right and I can't figure as I actually remixed a single exposure in the upper right corner. It views great in CS4 but posted the slight halo appears. Very annoying.

I really love this shot except the tree and bushes on the right side. It just doesn't have the contrast and vibrant colors the rest of the picture has.
Other than that, great! :)

Beautiful color control. Vibrant but not overdone.
Was your exposure set to the land with the ND filter bringing the sky down to a managable range?

Hmmm. The color is great, but a tad dark. The composition seems a little distracting. I think the sunset and the field with flowers stands on its own - the flag and copse of trees in shadow is sort of hanging out in space over on the right of the frame. I'd crop a little bit in from the left of the image, for an 8" wide by 10" tall image and crop out the right side. If you really want the flag in the image, try recomposing from a different angle to move the flag closer to the sun - or use the content aware scaling and try this maneuver in CS4.
Since you do not have image editing okay turned on, I mocked up the crop in a dandy painting.
Looks like a nice place to be at sunset. Nice shot.

Yep, when using GND's I meter the foreground for the exposure I want and work my exposures down from there.

One of the draw backs when using GDN's is that FG elements may be underexposed especially if they pass through the horizon.
Thanks for you comment

The composition is a wee bit to 50/50 IMO, but it's a beautiful photo without a doubt ...well done sir.
Hang that baby on the wall with pride ;)

The foreground and sunset are beautiful, Kevin. I don't mind the tree and shrubs on the right at all.

Very vibrant colors. I like it a lot, but I tend to agree with Kirkt about the flag. I'd crop it out.
Otherwise - excellent work.

I can see where the flag does seem kind of out of place, but I like it and would leave it.
