Shot this last weekend at a party where the performer was constantly in a spot light that horribly interfered with my flash - or when shot with "ambient" light came out way too dark.
Wonder how others manage spotlit subjects......

I haven't got a clue about spotlit subject, but I can't fault these at all. Cracking shots!
Although maybe if you'd ironed her dress first... ;)

Terrific captures with no1 being my favourite. No2 is of praisworthy quality but let down slightly by the curse of the mic.

Thanks both for the comments. I think I'll post a question about the spotlight issue in the "Small Flash and Studio lighting" section of this forum. I used both spot-metering with centre focal point and other methods. But in the original RAW files it showed that the camera just could not cope with the wide dynamic range created by the combi flash+spotlight. Without the flash (at ISO 1600 and more) the shutter time went down too far to to catch a constantly moving performer.
