I wanted to cut them and try some shots in the light tent, but the wife said no way :)

You want to photograph good flowers like that, but you don't want to cut them and move them to a light tent.

Well, use a very portable light tent.

I have a folding wire ring that is about 18 inches in diameter. From that ring, I can drape either a black fabric or a white fabric, just depending on the flower and what I am trying to do. Then, the ring is supported on wires from a pole above the flower. If you have a long pole, then it can be self-supporting, and it holds the tent above and around the flower. That way, you get your tent and the flower remains pristine. That allows the photographer to concentrate on the art and not have those guilty feelings.

Thanks everyone for your nice comments!! I forget to add it previously, but these were all shot with the 70-200 + EF25 II extension tube.

I have thought about something like a portable tent. These were all shot in the bright afternoon sun, but I'd like more control over the lighting (and background).
