Oh. How is it I read posts from peeps saying their camera has "3,560 verified shutter operations", and such?

Isn't there some info that is available when one connects to a PC? Let's see, where the heck is that cable again?

That is a claim made by one owner.

With my Canon camera, I can go in and see the total number of RAW images that have been produced and transferred to the computer. That is a good enough number for me, but that doesn't prove anything. I might have reset the counter in the camera.

Yes, there is some information available when connected to a PC. Unfortunately, this does not verify any number of shutter operations.

Heh, since I've gotten my XT everytime I'm uploading the pictures I've taken I look at the amount of pictures and add it to a text file and add it up. So I have an about accurate number of shutter actuations. =)

I'm at about 1,800 right now (Yeah yeah it should be alot higher right? ;) )

Only the 1-series cameras can be verified by the user. The pro-sumer cameras must be sent to Canon to confirm actual shutter actuations.

Everything i've read indicates that only Canon can tell how many shutter actuations were made on the prosumer model cameras. On the 1 series cameras there's a program that will do it.
