I like the way he looks like he is looking at the gull. Nice composition.

The bit of sunlight hitting the sand, the gull, the yellow reflections... all perfect. :) It might also be nice as a panorama (a bit less foreground, a bit more surf) if you had a wider shot. Selective color with just the yellow left might look neat, if a bit gimmicky. :)
