Came across him on a golf course after Hurricane Dennis passed us. He seemed hurt and I juat couldn't get close to him. Sorry for the bad pictures, but it was the best I could do under the circumstances...

This is an adult Osprey. It appears that you were pretty close as well!

Thanks AJ... I appreciate the info. It's too bad that he seemed hurt. I wouldn't fly when I tried to get close as it appeared his wing was hurt. He just walked further away. I didn't want to pursue him any further, so I kept my distance. I called a local bird sanctuary, but only recieved a voice message that they were closed. Hopefully he will still be in the area in the morning as I plan to try the bird sanctuary again.

Poor guy. Hopefully someone at the golf course will feed him.

If the "birdie" is on a golf course, wouldn't he be an "eagle?"

After a few calls to the bird sanctuary I found out that they have already been out to tend to the bird and fed him. :)
