His hands are just being held up for no discernible purpose in a very awkward way ... maybe playing "air guitar"? If he walked around like that people would think he was "challenged"! Someone may like it but I think it is pretty ditsy. ;)

one problem i see is that the crop seems all wrong for some of these to be a cd cover...try cropping to a 1:1 and reposting.

Yes, Bruce, but there are no clues, like a microphone, that he's singing! I don't often see just walking down the street or across campus singing with their arms shoved out in odd poses, so this just looks doofus to me.
