Are there any neat and tidy solutions for triggering the shutter on a 7D?

I'm looking to basically set the camera up and ride through at mach 5 on a mountain bike and it trigger the shutter possibly at 8fps mode as I either pass through an IR, laser etc trap but not costing $$$ ?

I'm not adverse to building it myself if all the parts are supplied and with clear instructions i.e. not a wiring flow diagram :)

How about a wireless remote with the release button rubber banded to your left grip? As you get close to the camera; you hold the button down with your thumb as you pass by?
Or bribe a friend with a beer or other tasty beverage?

As Tom mentioned, I would just have everything set up beforehand and then just have a friend push and hold the wired shutter release.

That's what friends are for. And for driving you to the hospital should you eat it at Mach 5 in the back country.

A Camera Axe (http://www.dreamingrobots.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=14)sounds like a reasonable solution and can accept a variety of input triggers to suit the situation.
