When I use the Canon tools to convert my RAW files to JPG it asks me what DPI I want to use. I have been using 350 DPI but have experimented from 50 up to 1000 and can see no difference in the converted Jpg's. It also asked me for the quality output which I tell it the highest, giving me about a 5mb file size.

Please explain.

The DPI only have effect when printing. For web display it does not matter what You set the DPI to.

DPI should only make a difference if you print. Most printers work on around 300dpi but your monitor will show the image at whatever zoom magnification you set (100% is pixel for pixel). If you are only looking at the images on a monitor the DPI settign will make no difference to what you see.

The lower the quailty setting fo the JPEG, the more compression it uses and the more artifacts you will see at higher magnifications.

Hope this helps.

Quality of the jpeg indicates how lossy the jpeg is. If you specify a low quality, the output file will have some details lost but you can get a smaller file size. Also remember that each time you open a jpeg and save again, you will loose some quality since jpeg uses a lossy compression algorithm.
