Took this shot with my 100mm macro lens last weekend, as there was nothing to shoot. It was so quiet in my backyard:( ......

Great shot Leo. Love the colour of the eyes. Can you see the detail of the compound eye in the full size version? I love it when I get the focus spot on and you can see that detail, never ceases to amaze me.

I've got a swarm of Florida bugs on the way for ya. excellent shot. very crisp and clear. We may have the bugs here, but lately, we've had nothing but rain everyday, very frustrating.

Thanks for your nice words, BB. This one is about 1x magnification, so the distance is about 6" from the front element.

Nick, thanks for your comments. I tried blowing it up to 200% and the eyes are still as smooth as a bowling ball. Normally, 100% should be sufficient to see the compound eyes. I believe it's because of the angle from which the light was coming from.

Edit: Actually I was able to see the compound eyes on my monitor at home, try this @ 100%:

Thanks BE. I hope those bugs are not mosquitoes:confused:   as I have more than I can handle here in NY:lol:   .
