Top shots. Are these all taken from public areas??
Don't know what half's doing in that first photo  he's not even looking in the direction he's going.

Thanks :)
All from public areas, sort of. We had Gold tickets which meant we could enter any grandstand on Friday/Saturday.
#1 was taken from the Luffield terrace, #2 from Farm, #3 from the back row of Luffield B grandstand (race day) and #4 from the Club grandstand at Vale.

Superb as usual :)
I don't 'do' F1 though, I enjoy it but won't do it in this country. Could be swayed for a Euro round somewhere though.

Nice shots. The one of Massa looks a little overexposed. However, my favorite is probably the Raikkonen shot. Great exposure and it's crisp. I hope you had a nice time.

Thanks for your kind comments :D, made carrying all the gear to, from and around the circuit several times over the weekend worthwhile :)

lol, yeah that's always a goodun. Althoguh you get used to after a while. At Le Mans I took on a little to much one day. I packed pretty much all of my camera equipment into my rather large and heavy lowerpro bag, stuck to 2 little bottles of water in the outside pockets, plus carried my monopod etc.
And in that seering heat, I felt it.

Man, those images above are pretty damn sharp. I was there for Saturday and Sunday. Had seats in the Becketts stand. My images just don't seem that sharp (EDIT: They are bloody rubbish) compared to yours. I have a 20D and was using a 75-300 IS USM to take these. What gear did you use? I must admint, having seen yours I'm bitterly disapointed. :( Oh yeah, are they full size images (I mean the whole frame) or crops?

I tried from Becketts grandstand on Friday afternoon but soon gave up as I couldn't track the F1 cars as they were too fast and always weaving :(
Good spot to watch from though
The head on shots are cropped a tad, even with a Sigma 100-300mm F4 EX and 1.4 TC plus 1.6 crop factor (300D) I didn't have enough lenght for a full frame at Luffield or Vale.
The best spots for pictures, on the outside of the circuit, are Luffield, Farm/Abbey and Vale imho.

Hmmm, I'm impressed with the lens, I have only really considered Canon lenses. Perhaps I have been a bit too blinkered.

The Sigma APO 100-300mm f/4.0 EX is a very nice lens indeed. Arguably the best 300mm zoom you can buy (apart from it's big brother of course). It's probably worth twice it's street price of £550.

Excellent panning technique there Scott, just love those red hot discs. But as you say, not as sharp as Brands. For reference, what kit did you use for these images?

The braking zone at Abbey/Farm along with the exit are good spots on the GP circuit.
DC seems to have his brakes nicely balanced and that's a nice capture :)

300D, 70-200 F4 L
Thanks for the comments. I've shot on the slower corners before, but shooting here was a new experience, so I didn't quite adjust to the speeds etc as quickly as I'd have liked to.
